You can personally support a full-time missionary or needy child. They get fed, clothed, educated, sent out, supported. You experience the joy of sponsorship!

"We just want to thank you for the picture and history of the young missionary we are supporting. I wept tears of gratitutde that our heavenly Father is allowing us the privilege of helping in His work."

So writes an American who provides full support for a native missionary in India. Thousands of God-loving people in America are astounded to learn that they can actually provide full support for an effective, full-time missionary through OMNI. This is because OMNI helps indigenous ministries which send out missionaries who are native to their areas. They are already on the field and know the language and customs of the people.

Missionaries
When Madan came to the Lord, he was an illiterate tribal living in a mud hut. He wanted to become a gospel preacher and begged the missionaries to teach him to read. Then he began preaching the gospel to his tribespeople, effectively using real-life illustrations to show people the way of Christ.

As a farm laborer, he was living at a subsistence level. A donor began sending $30 a month through Christian Aid. This provided the first substantial cash income in his life. Next the sponsor supplied a bicycle. This allowed him to evangelize more villages. Soon he had won 300 of his tribe to Christ.

Whereas missionaries in rural areas can live on $30 per month, city workers need $100 or more. So support for most missionaries on the foreign fields averages $50 per month. Each individual or church which sends $30 or more monthly will be assigned a missionary for whom they can pray.

Your missionary may never know the one who sends his or her support - only that his or her needs are being met in answer to prayer. Missionaries only know that the Lord supplies their needs.

Especially needed is support for missionaries in communist, ex-communist or strongly Islamic areas. If you want to support a missionary in China or certain critical areas in Southeast Asia, your support will be sent to the indigenous mission operating there. Names and photos of the missionaries are sometimes supplied, but sending biographical information and worker reports outside the country can jeopardize the worker.

Children
Millions of children in Asia, Africa and Latin America are destitute. Wars and natural disasters have added to the distress in some areas. Even many who live with their own parents go hungry, wear rags, and don't go to school because their parents are unable to find work and therefore can't pay local school fees. Many children wander the streets looking for scraps of food. Most suffer from malnutrition. Sometimes their fate is much worse. Many are abused. Some are kidnapped and used as slaves.

Thousands of needy children are cared for in children's homes operated by indigenous groups. Regular support from sponsors helps provide daily food, clothing, shelter, and Bible teaching by native workers.

Some needy children are assisted while they live with their parents or relatives. The aid sent by sponsors enables such children to have proper nutrition and to afford an education by buying school uniforms and books. This kindness usually results in the child and the whole family turning to Christ. Sometimes missionaries with big hearts and small budgets take needy children into their own homes and raise them as their own children.

By sending $20 or more per month, you can help one needy child. With your prayers, he or she may even grow up to be a missionary for our Lord.

Your Next Step
To begin experiencing the joy of sponsorship yourself, you may click on one of the Sponsor Now buttons on the right side of this page. Or send your first check to OMNI to receive your assignment. State whether you want to sponsor a needy child or an effective missionary with an indigenous mission group overseas.

OMNI will send you the name, photo and biographical sketch of the one assigned to you, as well as information about the indigenous ministry responsible. We will also send you updates on the one you sponsor as they become available (once or twice each year).

Your monthly gifts will be sent to the indigenous mission in charge of the one you sponsor. They will be combined with those of others to provide for the children, missionaries and trainees within their group.

Then, as you pray each day by name for the person whose picture you hold in your hands, you will have the deep satisfaction of knowing that your gifts help meet the needs of that precious child or fervent missionary in an area where you probably could never go as a foreign missionary.

Most of all, as you minister to "one of the least of these, my brethren," you will be ministering to Christ Himself (Matthew 25:40).

What a joy indeed!

We greatly appreciate your support especially your fervent prayers.
